Well Deserved Omedeto
June 3, 2009
A day hasn’t passed after posting my blog when Oricon announced that my 5 beloved dorky boys’ new single Ashita no Kioku / Crazy Moon surpassed the 500,000 mark of sold copies and outsold Believe / Kumori, Nochi Kaisei.
Omedeto gozaimasu! *clap clap clap clap clap*
Two consecutive singles over 500,000 copies sold. Two [currently] top selling singles for the year 2009. But it’s still early. The first half of the year is not yet over. Summer may have ended in the Philippines, but summer is just beginning in Japan. I look forward to more great news about Arashi untill all we Stormy-boys lovers celebrate their decade year anniversary all over the world. How I wish I could see them live.
I actually dreamed of them last night. All five of them. And they were going to bring me to somebody’s house to meet somebody’s family. The most memorable part was Aiba buying beer from sari-sari store (a Filipino-style convenience store) and drinking beer from the bottle … what more, it’s a Red Horse. MatsuJun had his arms around Ohno. Nino had his arms around me while Sho-kun held my hands. I wonder who we were supposed to meet? I woke up before we arrived at the destination.
~oOo~
I was supposed to blog about this weeks ago … almost a month ago. But I forgot and was never able to do so. I know, I twitted it as soon as I heard it.
But all I wanted to say is …
Dear Toma-kun, I am looking forward to your first movie. Anything you release, I shall support and treasure. Love, Moeru
I’ll be keeping a close look into this project and will [try] dilligently to post every detail released. For now, Toma-kun’s guesting on VS Arashi promoting Majo Saiban will be aired on June 27. I’m preparing my keyhole so I can watch it real time … commercials and all.
Ja, mata ne~
Beck: Live Action Movie
June 2, 2009I remember during season when International NANA Day was held, Beck was being shown in Hero Channel (do I remember it right?). I never took notice coz that was the year I was heavily into NANA. 2007 is NANA’s year. In fact, it was the year I dressed up in punk-lolita fashion.

Both manga focuses on rock bands. The only difference is NANA is for girls like me. And Beck, obviously is for guys. I still want to check it out. I even want to check out the tagalized version as very popular 90s rock icons were chosen as Filipino seiyuu. However, I’m looking forward to its upcoming live-action movie version.
In the movie, they will be focusing on the guitarist who formed the band, Beck — as opposed to the manga that focused on the young vocalist. What’s fun about this, they’ll be lead by Mizushima Hiro as the lead guitar player. I still haven’t checked out DROP — it’s not easy finding a copy with subs (I really should take my Japanese seriously). Mizushima Hiro, even though recently getting married to Jpop star Ayaka, is still very bankable. Two years after, Ikemen power still lingers. Yokatta yo~
Mizushima Hiro will be joined by Takeru Sato and Mukai Osamu (kyaaaaaa~) who he has worked with in winter season’s Mei-Chan No Shitsuji. More Mukai Osamu for me, yay!
Shooting of the film starts next month. The film is slated for next year. I’m confident that soundtrack will dominate the charts. How good it’ll be, I wonder. I was raised in a very rock-&-roll oriented family. So I’m pretty excited about the songs. I’m not sure about Takeru Sato’s voice though — but I’ll reserve my judgment untill I hear him sing.
So many of the fans are already excited about the movie. More because of the ikemen in it than the anime itself (or probably I’ve been hanging out at fangirl-dominated-sites more than anime-fansites).
Check out the pictures and their corresponding characters …
Mukai Osamu in white hair again? It’s really Mei-chan no Shitsuji all over again. I love it.
Ja, mata ne~

A Rainie Crazy Moon lit Taku
I’m a lazy person. I should be writing blogs everyday. Not that I want to become a celebrity or something, it’s just so many things happen in the Jpop Kpop and Tpop culture almost everyday and I get lost somewhere.
Anyways, first things first:
Congratulations to my beloved 5 dorky stormy boys for last May 26th they dominated the Oricon charts with their new single “Ashita no Kioku/Crazy Moon.” I have been watching Crazy Moon PV everyday. It makes up my day entirely. Something about those tilted-up shots and the boys dancing on top of the cam that makes it … just lovely. The question stands, though, will it outsell “Belive/Kumori, Nochi Kaisei”? Which by the way is still the top selling single of 2009. Personally, I like Believe more than Crazy Moon. But the choreography in Crazy Moon is “suteki!”!!! Standing ovation for the choreogrpahed it (I forget right now — it’s someone from MDA — was it Yara?)
Kimura Takuya’s new movie had its world premier last May 27 in Tokyo together with Josh Hartnet and Lee Byung Hun. I COME WITH THE RAIN is directed by renowned French-Vietnamese [art] director Tran Anh Hung. My brother is ogling the trailer right now. Flicker Flip hates how the trailer was made but is loving the visuals of the movie. Flicker is also excited about Tran Anh Hung’s next movie, Haruki Murakami’s “Norweigan Wood.” Ha! I have one up on my bro — he’s usually the one telling me about good movies. Now I can say I showed him something. All thanks to KimuTaku. Don’t you think KimuTaku looks like Hina (Murakami Shingo) in this pic? I still think KimuTaku is cutest when he tried to be Takuya
Mama — and even then, I like Shinggo Mama best. I’m not a SMAP follower — probably the age difference — but we all support Mang Johnnys boys. Also the movie was shot in Mindanao. If I had known KimuTaku was here, I would have flown over to Mindanao. XD
Enjoy the trailer …
Rainie is currently in Thailand shooting her new movie CHILD’S EYE. She’ll be celebrating her 25th birthday on June4 in the middle of shooting. I’m just in love with Rainie. When my sister and her friends asks me if I ever become a lez who would be my girl-fantasy — Rainie is one of them (the others are Eikura Nana and Anna Tsuchiya). My sister, Brattyneelah, showed me a lez movie with Rainie in it (Spider Lilies) years back and I still think she’s cute. This person never does anything without being cute. How appropriate is it she’s called The Queen of Cute. I can’t wait for the next movie.
And I can’t end this entry without a gratifying picture of Mike He — LOLz — love this couple.
I hate it that I still don’t have a trademark closer for my entries. So for now, Ciao Ciao!
Pulp News April-May 2009
May 16, 2009Sumimasen deshita, minna-san. I was away for quite a long time. It feels like it was almost a month. Acutally, it IS almost a month. See, my computer broke down — and no it wasn’t because of too much downloading of Arashi vids (yes, it is mandatory to mention them at one point in my entries). The monitor suddenly stopped functionion — again, not Arashi’s fault — and had to be brought to a computer hospital. I’m not fond of internet cafes, nor am I going to blog at my part-time. Because of this, I missed a lot of news I wanted to share with you.
Today I share with you some news in pulp version with my one (maybe 2-3) lines of my thoughts on the matter. Without further delay here are the news that caught my attention during my almost one month absence.
I confess, I’m addicted to Faye Wong because of Chungking Express. “Faye Faye daydreaming” became a catch-phrase among me and my sibs along with some of their friends (unfortunately, non of my friends in school could get it).
Thought rumors of these have been floating since almost the start of the year, Faye comes back for a shampoo commercial. This shampoo commercial will start airing on May 20th, but it can already be seen around the internet. Google and youtube it, you might find a copy.
UTADA POSTPONES U.S. PROMO TOUR
I wonder if “peritonsilliti” is the real reason behind this. However, I hope she could continue the promotion. People really need to hear Utada’s music. I just hope after This Is The One, she can go back to her trade mark music, which made us love her in the first place. This Is The One — as I’ve said it a couple of times now — sounds too American that it doesn’t sound like Utada anymore.
The raveshingly handsome guys of SuJu are back with a new single and album. The PV/MV is out and can be seen in youtube (i saw 2 versions). Although Big Bang is dominating the raves right now, my heart will always be with SuJu. Just coz they’re like BFFs with TVXQ/DBSK. (And coz they’re a lot more yaoi materials between these 2 bands than with Big Bang — but then again, it’s too early to say). Oh, SuJu will have their stage comeback tomorrow on SBS Inkigayo.
Another Oricon pollthis time about actors to look out for. Top two are Mei-Chan’s loyal butlers — with Takero Sato at number 1 and Mizushima Hiro at number 2. I still can’t see Takero’s charm — a few more dramas I guess an d then I’ll see it. Surprisingly, Takero can hold his own in a scene — i mean wth Mizushima Hiro beside you, one can easily become a background extra instead of a lead cast. My question is — why is TOMA IKUTA only #9?
“Konkatsu!” is Aya Ueto’s drama series for 2009’s Spring season. Aya Ueto (+) comedy has always been a sure fire way to raise up ratings above 12%. Konkatsu! started with 16.3% — however, started declining even as low as 9.4%. Last Monday’s episode pulled up a little, but it’s still under 10%. Hush hush around the net says, it must have been affected by the Nakai Masahiro’s band member’s arrest and controversy. Japan sure are very strict with their favor ratings, aren’t they. Too bad, the show is good and both Nakai and Ueto are very funny — as well as the rest of the cast.
So Sandara Park’s new girlband in Korea, 2NE1, has released their first single, FIRE. They will debuting on May 17th, that’ll be next week. I’ll be waiting for vid clips of that event, hence i’ll keep my mouth shut for now. As for the vid, please youtube it for now. I’d love to share it with you, but I’m saving space and bandwidth. Gomen ne~ this is just for the Pulp news versions.
I’ll be posting a different blog for Ikuta Toma and Park Chan Wook news. Although, still delayed, it’s worth telling the world.
Ciao Ciao ’till next time.
A Tale of Two Comebacks, Part 2
April 19, 2009Another set of comebacks — this time in the music scene.
(~~,).\,,/
SHIINA RINGO
Not that Shiina Ringo ever left the scene. But it’s been quite awhile since she released an album under her name. If my wikipedia serves me right, it’s been 4 years since she started carrying the name of Tokyo Jihen. I started liking Shiina Ringo during her Tokyo Jihen phase as my sister was heavily into. But by 2006/2007 she dropped Tokyo Jihen and worked solo but not as a performer but as a musical director for the movie Sakuran starring Anna Tsuchiya. The whole family were plenty amused by the movie as most of us — 3 out 5 siblings — were Anna Tsuchiya followers. The movie was an audio-visual fest. Although, the ending sucked, it’s one of the movies that tops our list just because it’s a 2 hour long Anna Tsuchiya / Shiina Ringo Music Video. But I’m not supposed to be talking about Sakuran or Anna Tsuchiya here.
So Shiina Ringo is releasing a new album — so says Tokyo Graph. The new album, SANMON GOSSIP will be released on June 24, but the carrier single ARIAMARU TOMI (Overflowing Wealth[?]) will be available starting May 27. You can hear this song in MatsuJun’s new drama SMILE as well (I can’t help pimping!). Futaribocchi Jikan is also part of the single — a song made for NHK’s Minna No Uta — Uta No Onii-San’s inspiration (LOL — again with the pimping!).
DO AS INFINITY
I tried listening to Do As Infinity a little before their break up in 2005. I didn’t go crazy over them. But I did like their song in the tribute album LOVE FOR NANA and well, there were a few other songs that stayed in my playlist over the years.
Last year, Do As Infinity surprised fans and people on their announcement that they’re reforming and will be releasing a single soon. The single will be called ∞1 (Infinity Ichi) and will be released on June 17, with the song TIMELESS as the carrier.
Obviously, I’m more of a Shiina Ringo girl than I am a Tomiko Van girl. I don’t think I can call myself a fan either. Enthusiast maybe? Sorry, my heart is set out only for Hiki. Maybe Anna, too. Though I have to admit, Anna can’t compete with Shiina and Tomiko when it comes to musical talent.
My brother has set aside time for me and we’ll be evaluating a few dramas next. Since Spring season has started, we should be evaluating the Winter season now. I can’t believe how time flies.
So for now — Ciao! Ciao! Bye-bee!
I need a better and wittier exit line.
Just Pimping this Little Japanese Girl: Utada Hikaru
April 18, 2009Just going to pimp Utada Hikaru’s PV of Come Back To Me. Wanted to add this to my previous post, but it took me some time to find one that was already being streamed as i.ph has no video album of its own.
Please enjoy. I like this song most from among the new album THIS IS THE ONE. Well — next to THIS ONE (CRYING LIKE A CHILD). Come Back To Me is the most “Utada”-ish in the album. Still trying to absorb the whole album, though. There’s this one song there that sounded really like it came from Britney Spear’s Circus. The title is POPPIN’ I’m trying to push my friends to listen to it and tell me I’m wrong. And then I’ll teach them to say “chigaimasu~” to me. I’ll try to remember the name of the song, next time. Also, minna, please say “chigaimasu” to me about that song — ne?
Also found one other vid where Hiki is just being cute and all promoting her album and explaining her intentions as an artist. I’ve been following Hiki since 1998. I love her, my family love her, my friends love and even my Asian-Pop-Culture-challenged BFF like her. So, minna, please support Hiki.
I just wish she fires her make-up artist and Hairstylist in the Come Back To Me PV. But then, Hiki’s never been a flashy person — sans Deep River days — and I love her for that. Remember Prisoner of Love PV? Ahhh, she lost a lot of weight from that time. She was so chubby cute then. A little butchy — hence, my sister wanted her for herself especially it’s the theme song for the lesbian themed JDrama Last Friend with (T____T) Nagasawa Masami.Well that’s it for now, since I’m just pimping to all of you guys.
Ciao ciao! Bye-bee! Mata ne~
Still bitter over Nagasawa Masami — but I still like her — and she’s uber lucky for having Nino as a boyfriend. I’d accept it if Nino marries her. I think she’s a good choice for Nino-kun.
New BoA MV for US Audiece
April 17, 2009While I was out fawning over my dear stormy boys, I missed the release of BoA’s new PV. IMHO, though, I didn’t miss much. Again!!! What’s up with the sexed up version? Seriuosly, stop making her look like a weird dominatrix. Ain’t BoA’s style. She’s hot as she is. Phooey!
Anyways, I’ve gotten my own copy. Hope everyone gets theirs. Oh, and Utada Hikaru’s too. I already have her American album THIS IS THE ONE. I miss the old Utada though. But I’m still trying to digest both albums so I can’t say much about it yet. Se7en is also debuting in the USA. I’m not a Se7en fan, but let’s all support our fellow Asians’ debut in the Western shores. So that when the time comes, and we have one representative there, we’ll be supported as well.
I hope y’all liked my new layout — coz today, ‘m celebrating the premier of MatsuJun’s new drama, SMILE. I wish I could do the same for Bambi Sho-chan when his drama THE QUIZ SHOW comes out. I’ll definitely do this when MAJO SAIBAN comes out.
For now — ciao ciao! bye-bee!
